Fiesta & Tequila on Preston Street offers a vibrant take on Mexican dining, blending casual full-service comfort with a colorful, lively atmosphere that feels both authentic and approachable. This is the kind of spot where the décor invites you to slow down and soak in the details—the bright hues and playful touches make it clear this is a place that celebrates Mexican culture beyond the food.

The dining experience here leans into sharing and discovery. Portions tend to be generous, with dishes like the Veggie Mexican Rice & Plantain or a plate of Nachos for Everyone serving as great examples of the menu’s balance between traditional flavors and inclusive options. The tacos, though smaller in size, pack a punch with genuine fillings, hinting at recipes inspired by real Mexican street food rather than a Tex-Mex spin.

This restaurant feels well-suited for a relaxed lunch or an evening gathering with friends, especially for those interested in exploring authentic Mexican cuisine with a twist. The friendly and helpful staff add to the ease, tailoring spice levels or giving gluten-free advice without fuss—making it welcoming to a variety of dietary needs.

Alongside the food, the drink offerings like aguas frescas and Jarritos contribute to a vibrant, casual dining vibe where you can linger comfortably. If you’re the type to appreciate a dessert finish, options like Tres Leches Cake and traditional flan offer a sweet, mellow way to round out a meal.

Fiesta & Tequila fits well into the Preston Street neighborhood’s diverse culinary scene, offering something distinct for locals who want more than just a quick bite. It’s especially lively during special events like tequila tastings and themed nights, which add an educational and social dimension to the experience. Whether you’re coming for a midweek lunch, a Taco Tuesday treat, or a weekend dinner with friends, the atmosphere is festive without feeling overwhelming—like a friendly nod to Mexican traditions nestled in Ottawa’s Westboro area.

Ok so hubby and I are slightly obsessed with Casa Mexico; it's our favorite restaurant and we go often on Taco Tuesday. Well, move over cuz tonight we discovered Fiesta & Tequila on Preston and OMG, I felt like I was back in Mexico and am filled with joy (and tacos). The tacos are smaller, but filled with goodness and reminded us of our very favorite restaurant in Jocotopec. So much flavour! They even brought over a hot sauce cart. AND the menu is 100% gluten free. The menu is much more extensive too, and the decor and atmosphere is on point. Great place to go as a group and share. Highly recommend. Oh and our waitress Pricila (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) was delightful and attentive and when we couldn't decide and asked for her taco recommendations, she came back with a platter with 4 different kinds and that's how we discovered we actually really like nopales (cactus). Our absolute favorite though was the tinga chicken with crispy shell. We tried I think 6 or 7 different kinds in the end and enjoyed all of them, truly. The pic is the first page of the menu but there are I think 6 more pages.

Found it on Google and will definitely be going back! Fun atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food, and LOTS of gluten-free options. Staff were also very helpful in selecting an entirely non-spicy option for me. Mexican food for everyone!!

Festive place... Ordered the small bowl of Pozole and 3 carne asada tacos. Delicious and great portions. Don't miss the Tequila Tasting and history on October 10th! Thanks for lunch!!

The atmosphere was so colorful, and I absolutely loved my first experience here! All the little décor pieces were so fun to notice. Thank you for the free chips and dip, such a nice touch. I’m not much of a guacamole person, but my family loved it, and I happily munched on the chips. The portions were bigger than I expected, but I was hungry, so it ended up being the perfect meal. Can’t wait to come back!

Just discovered this new gem on Preston Street. Delicious authentic Mexican food. Drinks are fun and exciting, and portion sizes are huge. Their honemade salsas are delicious and such a nice touch to the meal. Lovely decor and service is outstanding.

Short staffed, this is a commonly occurring problem that is becoming more and more noticeable in many places and this fantastic restaurant seems to be no exception. The nice waitress was doing everything by herself. She was assigning tables, taking orders, preparing and serving the drinks and also serving the food. We had burrito salads, vegetarian enchiladas, chicken fajitas, beef fajitas, nacho chips, they all tasted the same. It looked like they had prepped one kind of bean gravy that was being added to everything. No bad intentions there, they looked awfully willing to please. Just looked as if they were short staffed even in the kitchen. The chefs looked hurried and tired, a combo that's sure to cause the culinary mistakes that occurred. Upto the management to take a fresh look at things and take corrective action. Just a wee bit of fine tuning in the kitchen, that's all it's going to take. My job to point out, yours to take action. Five stars for everything else as its truly a wonderful place to eat.
